Ranges come from public 2025–2026 cost guides and marketplace quotes, linked above. They are not quotes from Heat & Air 365 or from any company we connect you with. Actual prices vary by home, equipment and company; always get a written quote.
Why two quotes for the same house can be thousands apart.
- Different equipment. Compare the same efficiency (AFUE, SEER2, HSPF2) and the same blower type.
- Different sizing. Ask how each company sized the system. A heat-loss calculation beats copying the old label.
- Different scope. Check what's included: permit, removal, new pad, line set, thermostat, duct changes.
- Different warranties. Parts warranty comes from the manufacturer; the labor warranty comes from the installer.
Three things that changed this year.
The federal tax credit ended. The 25C credit doesn't apply to equipment installed after December 31, 2025 (IRS). Utility rebates still exist in many areas, with their own rules.
Refrigerants are changing. New air conditioners and heat pumps use newer A2L refrigerants such as R-454B and R-32. Under an EPA rule from May 2026, older R-410A split systems made before 2025 can still be installed while supplies last, except in New York (NAHB).
Prices went up. Manufacturers announced increases of 5–15% on parts and equipment in September 2026 (ACHR News).
Ways to bring the price down.
- Ask your gas and electric utilities about efficiency rebates, and whether the installer files them.
- Get two or three written quotes for the same equipment level.
- Ask about financing terms and the total cost, not just the monthly payment.
- If your air conditioner is young, ask to price the furnace alone.
What happens when you call.
Heat & Air 365 is a free referral service. We connect you with an independent local company; that company quotes and does the work.
Call and answer two questions
New system or repair, and your ZIP code. It takes under a minute.
We connect you
Your call goes to an independent local heating and cooling company that serves your ZIP, when one is available.
They look at your home
The company diagnoses the problem or measures for a new system and gives you its own price.
You decide
Price, timing and the work are agreed directly with that company. You are never obliged to hire anyone.
Questions before you call.
Why don't you list exact prices?
Heat & Air 365 doesn't sell or install equipment, so we don't set prices. Each local company quotes its own price after seeing your home.
Is there a tax credit for a new furnace or heat pump in 2026?
The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) ended for equipment installed after December 31, 2025, so 2026 installs don't qualify. Many gas and electric utilities still run rebate programs with their own rules. Ask the company you speak with which utility rebates apply to your home.
Can I finance a new system?
Many local heating and cooling companies offer financing through their lending partners. Ask them for the terms, including the interest rate and total cost, and compare before you sign.
Is the call free?
Yes. Calling Heat & Air 365 is free and you don't have to hire anyone. If you choose to work with a company, you pay that company directly for its work.
Who will I talk to?
